She Recovers

You don’t need a diagnosis or a label to know that something in you needs support. Maybe you’re months or years past the relationship and you’re realising the hard part wasn’t leaving, it’s everything that came after. The nights you can’t switch off. The way “fine” doesn’t quite cover it. You’re not looking for crisis intervention. You’re looking for people who get it, and a place that doesn’t ask you to explain yourself from scratch.

I’m Nadine, the founder of The Resilient Blueprint. I built this site because I needed it myself once and couldn’t find it, a place that didn’t treat healing from an abusive relationship like a single event with an end date. Everything I recommend here, I’ve either used myself or vetted closely, because what you click on next matters.

What It Is

SHE RECOVERS is a non-profit movement, a website-based community, serving women and non-binary individuals in or seeking recovery from a range of life challenges, including trauma, grief and loss, burnout, and mental health issues such as anxiety and depression. Access is through their website, where you can join online support gatherings and groups, identity-based spaces, local chapter meetups, and a recovery education series. SHE RECOVERS also runs a directory of certified recovery coaches and trauma-informed professionals. Core community offerings, gatherings, groups, sharing circles , are free; coaching and some courses are separate, paid offerings. It’s a global movement, with a specific Canadian arm alongside its US base.

Why It’s Here

This isn’t a service built specifically for survivors of abusive relationships, it’s broader than that, covering recovery from substance use, eating disorders, grief, and burnout as much as trauma. I’m including it because one of its own co-founders speaks openly about recovering from intimate partner violence, and because the model itself solves a real barrier: isolation. After an abusive relationship, a lot of people feel like their experience doesn’t fit anywhere, too much for a general wellness group, not “addiction enough” for a recovery program, not in crisis enough for clinical care. SHE RECOVERS’ whole premise is that recovery doesn’t need a single category to belong here. If you’ve felt like your healing doesn’t fit a tidy box, this is a place built on that exact idea.

How It Works

You start by browsing their website and choosing what fits, a daily online gathering, an identity-based group, a local sharing circle, or their education series. Most groups run on a set schedule via Zoom, so you’ll need to check times against your own. There’s no formal intake or waitlist for the free community offerings, but you do need to register for specific sessions. If you want one-on-one support, their coach directory is a separate, paid step.

Who This Is for and Who It Might Not Be For

This might resonate if:

  • You are looking for peer community rather than one-on-one therapy
  • Want the flexibility of dropping into an online gathering on your own schedule.
  • Feel like your healing doesn’t fit neatly into a single “type” of recovery.

It might not be the right fit if:

  • You’re looking for support specifically and only for abusive relationship recovery (this is a broader recovery community)
  • You need structured one-on-one clinical care rather than peer-based group support.
